there is certainly a case for consumption taxation rather than income taxation. And a national sales tax would roughly accomplish that. But that approach has its own difficulties, in particular, accurately measuring value added at each stage of prouduction.

Do you think a national sales tax would be preferable to the income tax (which I believe was Larry Elder’s position during his early 2000s libertarian era)?
