Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation and suspension of habeas corpus; Roosevelt’s Japanese Internment and confiscation of gold; Truman’s desegregation of the armed forces; Eisenhower’s military support of the Little Rock Nine; and Nixon’s introduction of wage and price controls.
Excellent analysis. It addresses what many people fail to focus on - that to be legitimate, an EO must be in furtherance of an actual pre-existing Presidential power. For instance, the Emancipation Proclmation was specifically grounded by Lincoln in military necessity, deriving from his Contitutional role of Commander in Chief. EO's shouldn't be allowed to arise out of a vaccuum, though someone has to have the guts to point that out and act to defy extra-constitutional EO's.
This seems to be the goal of globalists. To wrest control from any semblance of representative government and place it in the hands of the doge(president) It is now nearly complete so that the corporate oligopoly have complete control. I see no checks and balances of significance.
I’ve toyed with that idea at times, but I also think they’re an important part of the checks and balances, along the lines of group (Congressional) versus individual (Presidential) power in the federal government. They’re also practical because an individual can respond more quickly than Congress can be coordinated, such as when there are developments in nuclear arms developments by nations like Iran.
I take an entirely different tack, that there should be no President. Instead, Congress should interview and hire every "officer" who now is appointed by the President and approved by the Senate. If they declare war, they can hire a commander in chief for that war.
The current situation is strange. These officers' boss is supposedly the President, yet Congress has to approve them, and Congress is always grilling them for the TV cameras. Do they have one boss or 535?
Cut the nonsense. Get rid of the President, and leave it to Congress to interview, hire, and fire them, and grill them for the TV cameras. Stop letting Congress pass the buck to the President.

I am glad to see someone addressing the executive order issue. It is and has been badly abused and not good for America. Please see my latest post on the federal debt matter. https://tommast.substack.com/p/sustainable-fiscal-discipline-what?r=b29s7
